Threadlifts

What are threadlifts?

As we age, we lose structural facial fat especially around the cheeks, the eyebrows, eyes, jowls and neck. In addition, elastic fibres are broken down, reducing facial elasticity. The lack of elasticity diminishes certain face-shaping supports and face begins to wrinkle, sag and droop.

HERE IS HOW THREADLIFTS CAN HELP

Threads are strategically placed under the skin to lift and tighten the skin. Collagen production is stimulated, which improves skin texture as well as enabling results to last longer.

AREAS SUITABLE FOR TREATMENT

Face Lifting

  • Enhances V shape face
  • Lifts jowl
  • Sharpens jaw line
  • Reduces double chin
  • Improves nasolabial fold
  • Lifts up sagging cheek
  • Improves appearance of eyebag
  • Lifts brow bone
  • Lifts temple

Nose Augmentation & Lifting:

  • Gives high sharp nose bridge and tip
  • Can be done together with fillers to maintain height of nose bridge for a longer lasting effect (fillers alone often do not have the ability to maintain a good height as the product settles down with time).

Skin Tightening

  •  Shorter threads are placed more superficially, nearer the skin surface to tighten the skin
  • Often used in combination with the deeper and longer face lifting threads to improve the overall results

TYPES OF THREADS

PDO (Polydioxanone):

  • Lasts between 6 – 12 months
  • The threads will typically be dissolved within a year
  • Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the threads have gone

PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid, similar to the filler known as Sculptra):

  • Lasts between 1.5 – 2 years
  • Even more effective at simulating collagen production than PDO
  • Once dissolved, the material breaks down into lactate, glucose, carbon dioxide and water
  • One of the commonly used materials by advanced threadlift doctors for treatment
  • Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the threads have gone

PCL (Polycaprolactone infused with Vitamin C):

  • Lasts between 2 to 3 years
  • Bonds and structure in PCL are stronger and more complex, thus taking a longer time for our bodies to dissolve PCL
  • The slow rate of degradation makes it a good material to deliver Vitamin C to the surrounding tissues
  • Vitamin C is proven to prevent pigment formation, lighten existing pigments and has anti-aging effects
  • It is extremely potent at stimulating collagen production
  • Once dissolved, the material breaks down into carbon dioxide and water
  • Popular and fast for dark eye circles reduction
  • Collagen stimulated during the treatment can sometimes last until well after the threads have gone.
